Rügen is Germany's largest island located in off the north-eastern coast of co untry in the Baltic Sea. It is much mythologised in the German national imagination. Frequented in the late 19th and early 20th century by the country’s good and great, including Bismarck, Thomas Mann and Einstein, its chalk coastline was also immortalised by Romantic artist Caspar David Friedrich in 1818. 

Cape Arkona is the tip of the Wittow peninsula, just a few kilometres north of the Jasmund National Park.

Münster. Cathedral and St.Lambert Church

St. Paul's Cathedral, built in the 13th century in a mixture of late Romanesque and early Gothic styles. It has been completely restored after World War II damage. It includes an astronomical clock of 1540, adorned with hand-painted zodiac symbols, which traces the movement of the planets, and plays a Glockenspiel tune every noon.

St Lambert's Church (1375), with three cages hanging from its tower above the clock face. In 1535 these cages were used to display the corpses of Jan van Leiden and other leaders of the Münster Rebellion, who promoted polygamy and renunciation of all property.

The Schleissheim Palace actually comprises three palaces (Old Schleissheim Palace, Lustheim Palace and New Schleissheim Palace) in a grand baroque park in the village of Oberschleißheim near Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The palace was the summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria.

Around the city there are a series of interconnected lakes and unique cultural landscapes, in particular the parks and palaces of Sanssouci, the largest World Heritage Site in Germany.

Berlin. TV Tower (1965-1969)

This is the most attraction on Alexanderplatz. Made of concrete and steel and with the height of 365 metres this is the heighest building in Germany and forth in Europe. the special thrill of this tower is oservation deck and ponoramic tele-cafe located in "sphere". 

Телевышка - главная достопримечательность площади Александерплац. Высотой 365 метров, построенная из бетона и стали - это самое высокое сооружение Германии и четвертое - в Европе. Изюминкой башни являются смотровая площадка и панорамное телекафе, расположенные в "шарике". 

Rostok.

Rostok is the largest city in the north German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, located on the Warnow river. The quarter of Warnemünde 12 km north of the city centre lies directly on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Росток - самый большой город северной земли Мекленбург-Вурпомерн, расположен на берегу реки Варноу. Один из кварталов города выходит на побережье Балтийского моря.

Island Rügen.

Rügen is Germany's largest island. It is located in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Rügen makes up the principal part of the Rügen District, which also includes the neighboring islands Hiddensee and Ummanz, as well as several small islands. Rügen is located in one of the most popular holiday and recreation areas within Germany.

Stralsund - German's city in the state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It's historic city center is a UNESCO WHS. 

Gottorf Castle.

Schloss (Castle) Gottorf located in the city of Schleswig, on an island in the Schlei, about 40 km from the Baltic Sea. It is the ancestral home of the Holstein-Gottorp branch of the House of Oldenburg. It was first settled as an estate in 1161 as the residence of Bishop Occo of Schleswig.

Germany: Königssee. Berchtesgadener Land. St. Bartholomä

Absolutely gorgeus card arrived from Germany! Recalling very positive reaction of one of the judges in the UA dance project "Everybody dance", I could say: Love! Love! Love! :)

Königssee is a lake located in the extreme southeast of the German State of Bavaria, near the German-Austrian Border. Lying near the Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden just south of the Austrian city Salzburg in the German Alps, the Königssee is the deepest and celanest lake in Germany. The lake was formed by glaciers during the last ice age. It is 7.7 km long and about 1.7 km across at its widest point.

The literal translation appears to be King's Lake, but this is not correct. While König does indeed mean king, the name of the lake comes from the first name Kuno, which appears in several historical sources, and it was formerly called Kunigsee.

St. Bartholomä, a famous pilgrimage church, is located about halfway down the western lakeshore. The church is located on the western edge of the Königssee on the peninsula of Hirschau. It can only be reached by ship or after a long hike. The chapel originated in part in the 12th century. Since the 16th century it has been in the baroque style. St. Bartholomew is said to be the protector of alpine farmers and of milkmaids.

Шикарная открытка прилетела из Германии. Вспоминая бурную позитивную реакцию одного из жюри на выступления учасников проекта "Танцуют все", могу только сказать: Люблю! Люблю! Люблю! :)

Кенигси - озера, расположенное на самом юго-востоке земли Бавария, рядом с германско-австрийской границей. Располагаясь рядом с баварским городком Берхтесгарден, южнее австрийского города Зальсбург в немецких Альпах, Кенигси является самым глубоким  и самым чистым озером в Германии. Озеро образовалось за счет таяния ледников в последнем Ледниковом периоде. По крайним точкам его длина ок 7,7 км, а ширина - ок 1,7 км.

Дослоdysq перевод названия - Королевское озеро, что есть не совсем правильным. König - едйствительно означает "королевский", однако озеро несет свое название от имени Kuno, которое упоминается в нескольких исторических источниках, а оригинальное его название - Kunigsee.

Церковь Св. Бартоломью, расположенная на западном берегу этого озера, известной церковью пилигриммов. Добраться до нее можно лишь на корабле или жеоч длинным пешим ходом. На этом месте в 12 в. располагалась часовня, которая с 16 в. приобретает черты стиля барокко. Св. Бартоломью считается покровителем альписйких фермеров и молочников.

Another very nice card from Germany. Düsseldorf is the capital city of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, situated on the River Rhine. I have a card showing enbankment of Rhine (as the center piece on this multiview card).

Germany: Aachen. Cathedral

This card is one of a few official postcrossing cards from Germany. It shows one of the German UNESCO sites - Aachen Cathedral. This is the oldest cathedral in northern Europe and was known as the "Royal Church of St. Mary at Aachen" during the Middle Ages. For 600 years, from 936 to 1531, the Aachen chapel was the church of coronation for 30 German kings and 12 queens.

Эта открытка - одна из немногих официальных открыток посткроссинга, полученных мною из Германии. На ней изображен один из немецких объектов ЮНЕСКО - кафедральный собор Аахена. Это самый старый собор в северной Европе, который в средние века также был известен как "Королевская церковь Св. Мэри в Аахене". В течение 600 лет, начиная с 936 г. и заканчивая 1531 г., это было местом коронования 30 немецких королей и 12 королев.
